The Saturn Sky was a sporty roadster built by the Saturn division of General Motors (GM) between 2006 and 2010. It was part of Saturn's drive to revitalize its brand with more interesting and performance-oriented vehicles. The Sky and the Pontiac Solstice both used GM's Kappa platform, which was developed primarily for tiny, rear-wheel-drive sports vehicles. The Sky's bodywork is a sleek, aggressive design with small dimensions, a wide track, and strong wheel arches. The interior was created with the driver in mind, providing a cockpit-like sensation with highly contoured seats and a dynamic, driver-focused console.
The Sky was available with two engine options: the base model, which was powered by a 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-4 engine providing 177 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque, and the Red Line Model, which was powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter Ecotec inline-4 engine producing 260 horsepower and 260 lb-t of torque. This high-performance variant delivered much more power and faster acceleration, making it a fan favorite among enthusiasts. Despite its short production run, the Sky left a lasting impression on the automotive world, playing an important role in Saturn's quest to reinvent its image as a manufacturer of stylish and performance vehicles.
